Pollie Pedal 2023
Conducted annually since 1998, Pollie Pedal is a cycling fundraiser that promotes contact between residents of smaller regional communities and their elected representatives. The riders in previous years have cycled more than 23,000km, raising over $7 million for charity.
This year’s event brings PP to the West for the first time. The route will cover 1,000 kms, starting and finishing in Perth and passing through southwestern WA. PP 2023 will raise funds for veterans’ organisation Wandering Warriors.
About Wandering Warriors
Wandering Warriors is a national charity established in 2013. While mainly focused on Special Operations veterans, WW provides services to other ADF veterans as time and resources allow. WW supports veterans through its Education, Respite, Mentoring and Employment programs. We operate with an almost 100% volunteer workforce, keeping our overheads low. Over the past decade, WW has facilitated education scholarships worth over three million dollars in partnership with leading educational institutions.
WW maintains close contact with the ADF's key leadership and is the only veterans' charity serving all units of Australia's Special Operations Command. We collaborate extensively with various associations and organisations, including the RSL, Legacy, Australian SAS Resources Fund, and Commando Welfare Trust.
Together with the Commando Welfare Trust and SAS Resources Fund, WW operates a career-readiness program – The Krait Foundation – which delivers purpose and self-understanding to transitioned veterans, while fostering the development of future business and community leaders.
WW is registered as a charity in Queensland and nationally with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. It is registered with ASIC as a public company limited by guarantee.
